The purpose of the Housing & Opportunity Foundation of Kern is to raise funds from the general public and other sources to support programs, facilities, and services that benefit participants of Housing Authority of the County of Kern as well as other low-income residents in Kern County in achieving self-sufficiency.
Participants who are ready to make a change and need support on their path to self sufficiency are actively engaged in activities and provided support to ensure that obstacles are identified and eliminated, allowing success. Programs focus on leadership and educational development for youth, job skills and education for adults, and activities for seniors focused on independence.
